Inheriting a Mackay cane farm with soil so light it was blowing and washing away, John knew there was no one-size-fits-all fix. Working with agronomist Audra Allen on tailored nutrient management plans, he's cut nitrogen use, saved on fertiliser costs, and kept nutrients out of the creeks and rivers.
