Project Bluewater 2 assists sugarcane growers to improve pesticide management practices. Participating growers receive a tailored pesticide management plan, expert assistance and incentives to calibrate and upgrade their pesticide application equipment.
A strong focus of the project is upskilling growers by providing farm one-on-one extension support, group training, development activities, on farm water quality monitoring, field walks and demonstration sites.
These activities will foster reduced pesticide use and the selection of lower risk pesticides to minimise pollutants entering the waterways and running to the Reef.
Farmacist began providing agronomy services in the Mackay and Burdekin regions in 2010. Our dedication to farmer’s needs, high quality service and support, application of the latest technology and R&D, and ultimately practical and precise agronomy, has seen the company grow to more than 40 qualified staff servicing industries and farmers from Northern NSW to Far North Queensland. We are proud to now be the largest independent agronomic provider to the Australian sugar industry.
